Disney Cosplay Of Giselle is Both Beautiful And Extremely Poofy
This Giselle cosplay by Madame Moody looks ready to jump out of a manhole in New York City.
New York Comic Con may not be having an in-person event this year, but we are gearing up for their virtual comic con known as Metaverse in less than a week! NYCC will be going completely online this year and will be free to attend. Most panels will be free to watch on the NYCC YouTube channel and will have a plethora of content for four days from October 8-11.
The Cosplay Central Championships of Cosplay, powered by SYFY WIRE, will be premiering on NYCC's YouTube on Saturday, October 10th, at 2:40pm ET. While we eagerly wait for this year's competition, we are highlighting some of the competitors from the 2019 Championships.
Carrying on the sewing legacy from her grandmother, cosplayer Madame Moody constructed Giselle to be a cosplay AND her actual wedding dress to be married in last year. She designed all the patterns herself. Ten yards of satin, 10 yards of lining, and 200 yards of organza later, Moody created this huge dress. The bottom hoop is 210 inches around and approx 15,000 beads and sequins along with 200 rhinestones. This dress took just over 300 hours.
Moody certainly kept up her princess game as well during the Championships of Cosplay prejudging, since she was battling a cold at the same time. Nonetheless, she got much needed sleep after prejudging was over when she was able to take a much-needed beauty rest on her poofy skirt. Talk about dedication to being able to prejudge and head on stage while being sick!
Be sure to keep an eye out for more of our cosplay features and get ready to party at NYCC's Metaverse on their YouTube channel running October 8-11. For a complete list of panels, be sure to check out FindTheMetaverse.com.
