World Of Warcraft Cosplay Made Entirely Of Scavenged Materials
This cosplay by Kestrelle Cosplay took over 250 hours to make.
World of Warcraft has been one of the biggest MMOs in existence since it's first debut on the PC in 2004. Since then, the Blizzard Entertainment MMORPG has helped create Blizzcon, a convention for all things Blizzard, as well as cosplays from all aorund the world. Many cosplayers have been fascinated by the intricate designs from the video game, from the Night Elves to the Taurens.
With World of Warcraft being so popular, it's no wonder cosplayers at the Crown Championships of Cosplay decided to cosplay from the hit video game. One cosplayer, Kestrelle Cosplay, created a Tyrande Whisperwind cosplay, a Night Elf NPC from the MMORPG. This cosplay was one of the chosen participants of the Crown Championships of Cosplay at C2E2 2020.
Kestrelle Cosplay spent over 250 hours creating this cosplay, based on the art of Zach Fischer. All of the armor is constructed from EVA foam, using freehand drawn templates, and hand cut bevels. Translucent foam was used for the moons to allow them to glow. Several details including gems, skulls, and beads were hand sculpted and cast using a variety of materials such as resin, foam clay, scupley, and hot glue. The bodypaint took two hours to apply, with sticker paper used as stencil for the symbols. The cosplay was also made entirely of scavengered materials that she already had on hand.
Talk about an impressive cosplay! To see Kestrelle's Tyrande Whisperwind cosplay in action, be sure to check out the Crown Championships of Cosplay from C2E2 filmed earlier this year in February.
