Check out all the incredible competitors from our competition at this year's NYCC x MCM Metaverse!

This year's Cosplay Central Virtual Championships of Cosplay, Powered by SYFY WIRE, consisted of 56 total contestants from around the world. Premiering on New York Comic Con's YouTube channel, the competition was hosted by Jaremi Carey and featured judges Yaya Han, Jedimanda, Ginoza Costuming, and Jackie Jennings.

We're excited to showcase all 56 of our amazing entries right here for you to see. To check out each cosplayer's social, be sure to click their name in the about section of their gallery image to be redirected to their social media pages. Some even have work-in-progress photos of their costumes, so please give them a visit and help spread the cosplay love!

In this competition we had cosplayers from the countries of Germany, Russia, Ireland, Australia, United States, Portugal, Brazil, Mexico, and the United Kingdom. Each contestant was given a choice to enter either the armor or needlework category, with a beginner section for new cosplayers. The judges then prejudged each contestant and chose the top competitors in each category as finalists for the competition.

The cosplays that were entered spanned a wide variety of characters from different fandoms, including comic books, movies & television, video games, anime, and fantasy. Many cosplayers chose from popular pop culture realms such as World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Marvel, Legend of Zelda, and many more.

In the beginner category, the judges awarded US cosplayer Commander Poptart as the Best Beginner Winner for her Ahsoka Tano cosplay from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

For Needlework, UK cosplayer Demora Fairy won runner-up as Little Red Ashe from Overwatch. The Best Needlework Winner went to US cosplayer Sewcialist Revolution for her beautiful cosplay of Claire Fraser from Outlander.

In the armor category, runner-up was award to Tim Tanco as Merman from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The Best Armor Winner was awarded to Russian cosplayer Slade as Anubis from Assassin's Creed Origins.

The audience was also able to vote on their favorite finalists for a Fan Favorite Award. UK cosplayer Headhunter Crafts as Big Daddy took home the runner-up with 21% of the votes. The overall Fan Favorite Winner went to US cosplayer Sara as Rapunzel from Disney's Tangled with 31% of the total votes.

This year's Best-In-Show winner was US cosplayer Katie of Raerovia Cosplay with her amazing cosplay of Princess Zelda based on Hannah Alexander's artwork of the character in Breath of the Wild. She spent 7 months creating the entire cosplay which included hand-dyed chiffon pieces, modified patterns, and armor with EVA foam.
